pine nuts

Hey everyone, this is kind of a weird question, but does anyone know how you go about extracting/collecting pine nuts? I really love them, especially in my summer cooking, but even a little package of them can be pricey. Does anyone collect the nuts themselves or have advice for doing so? Thanks! :)
