15 Things to Never Put in a Dishwasher

Could be something about the grade of stainless steel? I've yet to have that happen. What do you usually cook in it?

Its a set I've had for about 15 years and this has only recently started to happen. I'm talking about knives not pans - sorry I should have made that clear.
 
My stainless steel (misnomer!) is going black and stained from presumably the duiswasher. Vinegar gets it off but it seems to come back almost immediately.
I've got stainless steel bought in 1969 when I moved into my flat in Germany, and apart from the knife getting a bit thin from being sharpened with an electric knife sharpener occasionally it is all fine.
