Recipe Bagels

I don't know why you couldn't use sourdough starter. Just remember bagels are supposed to be denser and chewier, though there are a couple of places here that make them lighter and arier than the norm.

Yes of course, and they will be undergoing the boiling process. I found a recipe online that got lots of good reviews, but just wanted to know if MG ever made them with starter instead of just yeast. I know I read a few threads where she had a sourdough starter going, just didn't know if she ever used it for that purpose.

Never tried sourdough starter, but I think it would be tasty. Although... the sourdough 'dough' I am used to, is a very soft and wet in texture and couldn't be made into bagel shapes really.

But if you make sourdough with a firm dough, then it should work.

I like asking forum members for recipes over recipes I find with Google, though.
