Burger preferences and places

I love burgers and the nice thing is they're hard to screw up. So, even if you find yourself in some crummy restaurant, a burger is almost always a safe thing to order. The quality of the bun plays a big role in whether it's a "great" burger or not. The only thing I don't like is when they stack them a mile high and then the whole thing just becomes a giant mess to try to eat. When making them at home, the biggest thing is to not walk away from them on the grill so flare-ups don't get out of control and ruin them.

That looks delicious. I like the runny egg on top.

Beetroot is not eaten here in regular menu, most American people don’t like them, let alone in burgers. I know because I served many of my kid’s friends and they all said something nasty afterwards like their urine turned all red.

Oh. I don't know why but I thought it popular in the US. Maybe its because I know TastyReuben loves beetroot.

I buy vegan bugers which contain beetroot, so they sort of bleed. They are actually really good.

It’s definitely not common here. Not saying you can’t find it somewhere…in a city…in a trendy “burger parlor…” as part of an international series…and it’ll be $45…, but it’s not common and largely unheard of here.

I do love beets, but I’ve never ventured to put one on a burger. I’d try it, though, certainly.

Even among Asians they are not popular either. The reason I say that is because I mentioned numerous times to Asian people that I control my HBP, not using medication, is through eaten lots of boiled beetroots and they have that look, like oh it’s not something they eat regularly.
I think the Persians eat a lot of beetroots because I shop at a Persian store regularly, and Persian people ask me how to pick them.

Hard Rock Café. 2015. The original, unforgettable Hard Rock from 1971. Burgers were ½ pounders, and I distinctly remember they'd come with little dishes of chopped onion, ketchup, American mustard and mayonnaise.
There used to be queues of about 100 yds long outside.
