Burns Night

Cranachan for dessert:

IMAG3271.jpg

Raspberries mashed up in a little sloe gin, yoghurt and oats toasted with butter and brown sugar.

Looks really good, quite a bit more oats than the versions I've had. Nice.

The oats are my favourite bit, so I make sure there is a good portion of them!

I know it's normally done with cream and whisky, but as NT can't eat cream, and we didn't have any whisky, the yoghurt and sloe gin stepped in..

The raspberries were just mashed up with a couple of spoonfuls of the sloe gin and left to marinade. (I took a few aside to garnish with ). The oats are toasted in a frying pan with some melted butter and a couple of spoons of dark brown soft sugar. Then it's all just layered up in a glass to be posh.

Looks delicious. I have only had it once and that was in Fort William, not as many oates but the good thing about a recipe is that you can tailor it to your own taste.
