Chips, French Fries, Wedges and Any Other Hot Stick Shaped Potatoes

Mr SSOAP wants to set up ‘Kitchen cam’ so I can just press rewind and see exactly what it was I did 😂
Thing is I think he doesn’t understands how much moving around the kitchen and adding a bit here n there happens, I reckon I’d still be going “you whaa? what was that I just added?” 😆

And it's worse after a few glasses of wine!

But maybe that would be a nice thing to leave behind?
Perhaps mum rambling around the kitchen would be a nice background wallpaper on tough days?

I don’t know? I never wanted to see my mother over boiling mixed veg? Certainly less having to eat it 😂
We have some video of Brian's late grandmother (not cooking) from about 20 years ago that he can't bring himself to watch because it makes him too sad. She's been gone for over 10 years now.

My mom was a great baker and she followed recipes to the tee. I don't have any of her recipes, unfortunately. I would probably cringe watching any videos of her in the kitchen from when I was a child as she smoked a cigarette and patted the dog, then went back to cooking without washing her hands...

But surely theres some comfort in that?

I could tell a story about, in the '70's, cooks smoking at their station and ashes falling into the food, food on the floor hastily tossed back onto the platter; it's endless...

I read yesterday that France is ditching its traditional French Fries in favour of British style chips. Sales are up 25% in one year and farmers are struggling to keep up with demand.

Now as a Brit chip fan I'm happy about this, I'd take a triple cooked gastro pub chip over french fries any day of the week.

It might surprise some to know that the French already eat more Fries and Chips than the UK by a long way.

So it got me thinking, what are your favourite types of chips, how do you like to cook them and how do you eat them?

No judgment here. If it's carb on carb between two fat slices of white sliced slathered in thick butter then whoop whoop! 😆
I love Maui onion kettle cooked chips! I don't know to cook them myself but I can eat an entire bag in one sitting. I only buy them for picnics and parties!
