That one was bought in 1991. It lasted about 4 years, and even the Whirlpool one that replaced it was 400W too. How time have changed
Not sure if they make them with wattage that low now, but you never know.

Another issue - my microwave is 1100 watts - how to adjust for that?
The only thing I actually cook in the microwave are veggies and sometimes bacon. Everything else is heat or reheat.

I used to fry the bacon, but now, I cook it in the oven on a low temperature to avoid burning it.
Surprisingly, it seems to shrink & wrinkle far less than just rushing through it!!

And when you do it in the oven, there's no turning it over, as with frying it!

They still do make them, mainly for use in caravans and when camping.Not sure if they make them with wattage that low now, but you never know.

They can go as low as 300 watts?!! Geez!!
