Cooking Potatoes

Following on from @morning glory 's thread on chips, I wondered how many different methods there are of cooking potatoes?

Chips (fries), roast, boiled, baked (jacket), mashed, creamed, duchess, fondant (one that I discovered recently), fried mashed (as in bubble and squeak or rumbledethumps), sauteed, balti, hash brown, potato cake; the list appears to go on forever.

Jacks or baked in skins in aluminum foil
French Fries ( varying cuts from wedges to steak fries )
Potato Gnocchi
Stew potatoes
Potato Salad
Mashed or Puréed
Stuffed Baked Potatoes
BBQ
Rostí with herbs
Au Gratin
Soufflé
Boiled
As a filler in uncountable dishes
Russian Salad ( L´ Olivier Salad )
Vicychoisse ( soups )
As a key or minor ingredient in numerous dishes ..

And yes, the list goes on and on !

Meat/fish wrapped in/encrusted

Thrown directly in the embers of a cooking fire. Steaks can be done this way as well. You just brush off the ash before you eat. From years of camping. You can also cook an egg in an orange cup.
