I happened to watch a recipe for crisps with frittata today on TV. Basically, the crisps are added towards the end and the frittata finished in the oven. This sort of thing is not usually my style but I have to say it looked rather good. The crisps were left whole and sort of half tucked into the semi set frittata.

It got me thinking how else crisps could be used in cooking. All ideas welcome.

I've never tried this and I can't think of a more expensive way to make mashed potatoes but it looks like it could be quite tasty:

A long winded video for such a simple idea. It looks rather lumpy to me which puts me off.

But maybe this technique of softening up crisps in hot water could be used in other ways.

I’m sure I made a potato chip/crisp frittata and posted it here…I’ll go digging in a bit.

Other than that, chips/crisps are a fairly common breading component and also there are a good number of retro casseroles that call for a topping of crumbled potato chips/crisps.

Me too!

I've taken the bacon cheese flavored ones and breaded country ham and then deep fried the whole lot. 🤤
We only have sweet chili & cheddar..
The sweet chili (blue packaging) is far too sweet so I use the cheddar (orange).
Generally spiced beef mince with tomatoes, fried.
Put in oven dish, line with fresh tomato slices & sweet corn.
Cover with doritos, covered with cheese.

But recently I changed it and leave out the doritos till cheese is melted properly, then throw doritos on top and heat.

I am not claiming any authenticity :)
