Cornish Brewery to Close After Being Acquired by Molson-Coors

The biggest issue with the big brewers buying up the smaller ones is the lost of choice, or they change the original product. Molson Coors bought Aspall Cider of Suffolk a few years ago and has made several changes to the recipes. They basically reduced the ABV to avoid taxes and made it sweeter, allegedly to cater for the US market. It is not the same product - its no longer a go to brand in this household
 
Doombar is one of my favourite beers, and the fact that it's closing is very sad. Another victim of crippling taxation, the demonising of alcohol and a new generation which tends to avoid pubs, unfortunately.
The fact that it's been bought by Molson-Coors makes it even worse...
