Date and walnut cake, possibly with blueberries

I saw this recipe for a date and walnut cake.

According to Blueberries 101: Nutrition Facts and Health Benefits Blueberries are 84% water and 10% sugar.
If I used 150g blueberries (ground in a food processor), could I reduce the water by 125g and the sugar by 15g or am I overlooking something? Would it benefit the cake nutrionally?

I don't think you can add nutrition to an ingredient, you can only reduce it. If you remove water, you will concentrate the flavor of the blueberries. It should not have any significant effect on nutrition. Some sugar may come out with the water, but I don't think it will make any significant nutritional difference, either.

Sugars found in whole foods, like fresh fruits, are better for you, because of all the other things in the fruit, like vitamins, minerals and fiber. Added sugar in a recipe is where you add calories, with no nutritional benefits.
