Day drinking

We started drinking at 4pm today. Just got home. I had 2 and 3/4 beers, DH had 4. But I was driving, so...

I can't even finish 1 anymore. I'll cut the grass and it's real feel 105F and I'll drink one of those 7 oz. ones and be full! How does that happen??? I used to buy the 36 box of Corona in Las Vegas like once a week... I'm looking at the 12 pack I bought 6 weeks ago and it's still got 8 in it. 🤷‍♂️

It took me almost 3 hours to drink almost 3 beers.

Just buy small beers so you feel like you drank more. :DUp here, most beers that you buy in the supermarket or gas stations are the tall boys. That's at least 16 ounces. I grew up drinking what we called pints of beer that were 12 ounces. So, not all beers are created equally. I find the tall cans get too warm in the summer. I have been drinking the smaller bottles the last couple of years but now they go down too quickly and I feel like an alky when I'm closing in on a six pack by dinner time.

Yes, when I can find them I'll buy the pony sized ones. 👍

Is that anything to do with a British pint and an American pint being different sizes?
I sometimes get caught out using American recipes (and possibly that happens the other way around) because we use Imperial which differs to the US customary system.

Beer over here come in at 220ml ( about 7 US ozs) and 350ml (12 ozs). They're served at about 3-4C, because of the tropical temperatures outside.
I buy the 350ml bottles (or cans) because the smaller ones go down without touching the sides. I've acquired a rather nifty cooler thingy which keeps them cold Warm beer (at least, the typical pilsen over here) is pretty foul.
When I got back from the restaurant yesterday, about 5.30, the first one went down in about 10 minutes. The second took about 50 minutes.

375 ml bottles were the standard here, but nowadays the 750 ml bottle seems to have won (as it is cheaper per volume).
Having a beer at lunch time is not considered odd at all. Esp not over the weekend or out for lunch (or breakfast, or brunch)
Ice cold is the norm.
Not so in the Netherlands though. Maybe it's climate related?
