Do you call it Grilling or Barbecue

Not necessarily my friend. I´ve got an American brand cooker in Caracas which is like that: the "grill" function is in the oven. However, the cooker in my mum´s house in the UK looks like this:
View attachment 95970and as you can see, the grill is at eye level, something like the "salamander" I used in my friend´s professional kitchen. Personally, a grill, for me, has to be on a BBQ - ie. outside in the garden.
That’s what both my cookers looked like in our UK houses when we lived there in the ‘90’s.

We use charcoal at home and gas (propane) when away in the MH.
In Caracas, most BBQs use charcoal. In my house, it´s the same, but a few years ago, we pruned the mango tree (which was ginormous) and I started using a combination of charcoal and mango wood. it´s a bit more tricky because the mango wood burns faster, but since I had half a tree to go through, no prob.

In my terminology BBQ is always related to BBQ sauce or BBQ dry rub. Grilling is done on the outdoor grill with no sauce. Broiling is done in the oven.
