Does anyone know what this is?

it's a preWW2 fruitcake recipe - Christmas Cake without the icing...
we liked the Cross+Blackwell Hard Sauce as a add, apparently they've stopped making it?
so it's dyi now.

Looks like this is a Christmas pudding or Christmas cake in the making. Both are rather unusual in the USA, though.
My mother, aunts, grandmother, etc. all made Christmas cakes every year. Maybe it's regional?
