Does Anyone Use an Induction Hob?

Hello,

Does anyone use one of these very modern-looking induction hobs for cooking?

I hear tell that the efficiency rating is far greater than gas and electric but people still prefer gas because its gas. Anywho, I feel like not being able to grab a nob is effecting me somehow.

I think it's something to do with controlling the heat.

I presume, then, that a stone frying pan is a poor choice for this device.

Are you sure its an induction hob and not a ceramic hob, @Eating Chicken?

My daughter has a ceramic induction hob. It is divided into five areas and does have knobs on to control the heat individually in each area, plus a master knob to turn the whole thing on. Except for the fact that the surface is more or less blank and a lot larger, it isn't much different to my ceramic hob to look at. I was going to get one too but decided against it because of the huge difference in cost and settled for the ordinary ceramic hob.
Her one came with a selection of suitable pots and pans too.

I'm about to replace my hob - I may have asked you this before @Elawin but would you recommend a ceramic hob?
