Easter 2026

Looking forward. Can’t while next year when I can host! Maybe I’ll have something, but I love sitting round the table ats. Easter egg hunt followed by lamb roast. No doubt children will be in cocoa coma by then. Sister is really bad at understanding meat prices. Thought she bought two legs for £7. Didn’t realise it was per kilo. Feel bad for her, but can’t understand how it always gets her.. so yeah £40 worth of lamb to be cooked.

Round here the wildlife, sheep, possums, and chooks would have found them and eaten them by then.

Family time over the Easter weekend. Daughter, son-in-law and grand daughter coming to stay. The dietary outlook is:

• Good Friday: A visit to the local hostelry for their fish Friday
• Saturday: Daughter & son-in-law cooking Italian
• Easter Sunday: Slow Cooked Lamb with all the accompaniments - roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, mint sauce/redcurrent jelly. Dessert to be defined. Starter highly likely to be chorizo and prawn stack.
• Bank Holiday Monday: ????? Who knows? Hostelry again.

Not much here. I'm making a baked pineapple casserole to drop off to the family since I have to work, jobs pay double, and sister is going to load me up with broccoli and deviled eggs.

The committee didn't plan Easter very well...

Sadly one of the Easter eggs arrived pre-smashed.

The left hand mini eggs were also bought by me, to get around the daft postal charges...

The right hand mini eggs were purchased by my OH. We rather like the Loco Love brand. Their caramel chocolate bar is amazing, but so are their prices....

And the mini eggs are inside a quails (?) egg box.

We might need eating chocolate for a while.

Husband has loudly announced that he’s going to run the dishwasher, and went to the fridge to get the butter out.
