My wife grew up on a farm and her mom cooked every meal from scratch, so naturally she was raised with an innate and very intuitive ability to cook. I, on the other hand, was raised on boxed foods and similar garbage, and have learned how to cook over the years from my lovely wife and from my own research. Our roles have kind of reversed in that I now do most of the cooking, but most of what I've learned has been online and so I'm still painting by the numbers and very much trying to absorb and learn. (Kind of why I searched around and found this forum.) So, this thread is about posting your favorite online cooking and recipe resources, which hopefully we can all learn from. I don't do Facebook or InstaTok, so Youtube and the regular internet sites are it for me.

Fallow is one of my favorites, though I have to turn on the sub-titles since they don't speak American. 😉

Another one that I like. "That Dude" is a little weird, but whatever, he can cook.

Chef JeanPierre... Who doesn't love this guy?! (But he's apparently taking a break.)

Another that I like. Simple and straight-forward, plus kind of chill to watch.
Dorfrezepte

And for smoking meats, I've learned a ton from;

Mad Scientist BBQ
Hey Grill Hey

These are all just to name a few of my favorites. I'll play, stop, and rewind every recipe I find until I can jot the whole thing down before I actually go for it.

We used to have a guy ThatDude in the forum.
I've been to that site before.

Like Barriehie I don't do videos much though.

A good bit of what I cook actually comes from print cookbooks, but for online sources, I like Chef John (AllRecipes), the America’s Test Kitchen family, Jacques Pepin, King Arthur Baking, those are all YT.

Once Upon a Chef, Spend with Pennies, RecipeTinEats, Cookie & Kate, A Couple Cooks, Homemade in the Kitchen, Taste of Home, SeriousEats, and The Kitchn for more blog-like stuff.

Usually, though, if I have an idea for something, I’ll just google it and see what pops up.

For my 52nd birthday, my wife bought me a Julia Child cookbook. We took a (rainy/cold) weekend getaway, and I couldn't put it down!

Thinking about this, there is almost no website I regularly use. I'm a complete magpie, flitting about picking up shiny bits and pieces from anywhere. But that follows years of dedicated work learning about how to cook. I've learn most from UK TV cooking shows, which tend to demonstrate exactly how to cook a dish. There are some US shows too which I've learned a lot from. The rest I learned from men in my life who could cook and from books.

One particular site I like is Great British Chefs - there are complete recipes there from Michelin starred chefs which are carefully laid out with step by step instructions. There is also an Indian based website I use sometimes, but that is perhaps a niche interest.
