Favourite dish beginning with..

"S" is for:
  • Sausage Roll: sausage meat wrapped in puff pastry
  • Spam Fritter: A slice of spam fried in batter. Used to be regular dish served at school dinners
  • Saveloy: Red sausage normally bought with fish and chips
  • Scraps: Left over batter pieces from frying fish. Often sold with a portion of chips
  • Steak & Kidney Pudding or Pie: Suet Pastry slowly steamed or puff or short crust for a pie
 
  • Spotted Dick: steamed pudding with dried fruit served with custard
  • Summer Pudding: filled with a mix of soft fruits
  • Stick Toffee Pudding: classic English dessert with variations
  • Scotch Egg: boiled egg wrapped in mince meat covered in breadcrumbs and deep fried.
  • Stargazy Pie: Cornish dish of sardines in a pie with head protuding looking up at the sky - hence Stargazy Pie. Very visual pie!
Running out of time but I'm sure there are lots more "S"s like and some that have already been mentioned like Steak au Poivre
 
Scotch Egg: boiled egg wrapped in mince meat covered in breadcrumbs and deep fried.

That's a good one. I do love a good Scotch Egg. One of my favourite UK supermarket ones is the Sainsbury 'Taste The Difference'; those are awesome.

Had some really good ones in a 'British' pub in Taipei of all places. Jan 2019 lol. I liked it so much I still have the picture!

I do make them at home now and again but have never really managed to nail that ultimate jammy yolk.

Tempeh goreng (fried tempeh in spicy sweet soy sauce)
 
For "T"s:
  • Teacake: Toasted with butter
  • Treacle Sponge or Tart: Rich golden treacle served with custard
  • Tomato Soup: Home made and Heinz
  • Tikka Masala: invented in the UK
  • Tartar Sauce: Mayonnaise, capers and gerhkins.
  • Toad in the Hole: sausages in a Yorkshire pudding
  • Trifle: Great British dessert
  • Turbot with garden vegetables: the king of fish
  • Turkey & Ham Pie
  • Tiramisu: Great Italian dessert
  • Tiffin: the Scottish tradebake cake
