Foods to Avoid When Dining in Restaurants

After watching this video, it seems that the only thing that's safe to order in a restaurant is bottled water. Maybe.
A somewhat dystopic view of what to do in a new restaurant, perhaps? Scaremongering, but I don't see what the point is. I suppose I would avoid anything described as "best ever" or "absolutely authentic" - simply because everyone can claim those descriptions, but I'd always look at the special dishes; sometimes there's an unusual combination there and sometimes it might be because the chef was wandering around the market and found something he/she hadn't seen for a long time - like cardoons, or sea urchin.

Whenever I see someone claiming that their recipe is the "best ever", I always make a point of avoiding it. The arrogance is just too much for me to overcome. Even though over 5000 people apparently agree that the first one is the "best chocolate cake recipe ever", I won't make it. I know I can find a perfectly good chocolate cake recipe somewhere else that likely makes it exactly the same way. Stop encouraging these people!
