Garlic. What are you using to prep it?

The cheaper one is not the right one. My review made that clear, but I'll add it here as well.

It's the one with the rounded curve end to it and yes, it was that price when I bought it and it has been worth every penny. It crushes ginger as well. And if my family wanted one, I would buy it at that price again. It has been brilliant. if i lost ours, i wouldn't hesitate to replace it with the same one.

Cleaning is simple because of the design.
We wash it by hand because we don't have a functional dishwasher. It cleans easily when still wet from pressing the garlic but a quick soak in water also addresses that problem and basically, ours is 13 years old and like new. It's used

The bottom is the most scratched, but being stainless steel it doesn't rust. The design makes cleaning easy. And you can if you want to, actually crush garlic with the skin on, but I find that means you have to remove the skin before cruising the next clove, so I still skin mine.

As for storage, it gets thrown into the kitchen utensils drawer when dry. Nothing more.

Is this not the curved one? Just... Somehow cheaper?

Cuisinart mini food processor (process whole heads nothing added, then freeze in zip top bags, to use: snap off a piece then bag back in freezer) or fresh - garlic rocker or microplane

I have arthritis in the base of my thumbs

I have no need of a chopping board, a plate to put the clove down on and/or catch falling skin would be fine.
I just take a clove and a small knife (any one that can cut - not super sharp, and not expensive).
At the shoot end (not the root end), I cut part way through the skin, and then without removing the knife I strip the skin downwards.
This will not remove all the skin, but it gives an entry point.
Using the same knife I part cut / part ease the skin off. Basically I 'shell' the clove. The clove itself is not cut unless I maybe nicked it on the first top cut, so no juices everywhere.
Kinda like this pic, but the person has the clove upside down if tackling it my way

I just use a cheap 35-40 yr old garlic press to crush the cloves. It looks similar to this

Just about anything is available from worldwide Amazon.
If you can afford the shipping fees. And possible import fees. Sure. If you're a billionaire you can buy almost any product for sale from anywhere in the world. Other people will get it to your hands. You don't have to move a muscle.
