Gen Z, millenials etc.

Gen z is now a worldwide concept.
Take a look at the events in Nepal and Morocco recently. They call themselves Gen Z

Fair enough. But I think that may be because they have access to Western media which has promoted the concept. I was thinking of more restricted countries.

It's human to want definitions to things and to categorize big groups into something. A remnant of our tribal days as a species I suppose.

So thinking in terms of generations isn't bad per say for general observations as a scientist or journalist, but problematic once it becomes a dogma.

All people of a generation are never the same, and while some trends can always be observed we must all remain aware that what is observed once at a moment in time is just that, a momentary observation. There are tiring, obnoxious and selfish people in every generation. We're all living now and creating the world we see. Want change? Be that change.
Maybe ask the next Gen Z er how they are doing when they refuse something, instead of rambling about lazy Gen Zers online. Their answer may surprise you.

Some very wise words :)
I don't even know which group I would belong to, but I do know I hate being put in a certain box. Always have, always will !

When the first of my friends turned 25, we called her "almost antique". Just jokingly as we were 23 or 24.
I remember thinking people of 40-45 were ancient, but when I turned 45 I had changed my opinion and thought I wasn't old at all.
Lot of blah blah, but age has nothing much to do with attitude. We are what we are, influenced by the surroundings and conditions we grow up in.

Funny little bit: while ago I had some people wanting to go on a canoeing safari, multiple days.
2 couples. The guys figured they could still manage together, but they wanted a paddler for each wife.
The guys were 84 and 82 :)

Have to admit that putting people into categories (Baby boomers, millenials; Caucasian, hispanic; left wing, right wing; gay, straight, etc.) rather annoys me. People are people, that's it. I don't mind and I don't care - they're all people and should be treated as such.
When I was at uni, studying music, there were a lot of "gay" singers/actors. So what? Some of them became really close friends because they were wonderful human beings. I played cricket for years - with Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Jamaican, Trinitarian players. We all got on really well.
Venezuelan society is a mixture of Caribbean indigenous people, Spanish, African,Portuguese, Chinese. They're a wonderful mixture. In our culture, it's a term of endearment to call some "negrito", "chino", "portu", "musiú (a corruption of monsieur, ie. European)..something utterly alien to Western culture. We're gregarious, we get along, regardless of age, race, colour, religion or political preference.
The world would be a better place if we just all learned to get along.

And they were sleeping in rooftop tents :)
The older couple had been to Africa plenty times. It was the first time for the other couple !
I was thoroughly impressed
