I live in Saffron Walden in Essex which is a small market town. Walden no longer grows saffron, but to replace it there is an exceptional twice a week food and fish market. Surprisingly, given the proximity of Cambridge, the Walden market is much more successful.
Jamie Oliver' dad's restaurant is nearby, but they have lost their their longtime Head Chef. He weathered the virus storms and is now the owner of a highly innovative food shop. He goes to the London markets each day, takes esoteric orders from his increasing customer base.
That is the good news. It is a pity about the rest.
