We need to decide on a Dish of the Month for July. Each month we choose a different and accessible dish so that most of us can join in, cook and post the results. So far we have had Frittata, Burgers, Pizza and Tortilla based dishes and Savoury Pies.

Any suggestions are welcome but it needs to be a dish that can be made vegan if required with fairly easily available ingredients and a dish which offers the chance for different interpretations.

Past suggestions have included pancakes, potato salad, pasta salad, macaroni cheese, chilli and bread.

Please feel free to add suggestions with the above criteria in mind. We will make a decision based on which dishes get most mentions - so please join in and support a suggestion or come up with an idea.

It has to be chilli (with or without chocolate or coffee) for me.

Or fish (given that I'm considering pollock for tomorrow's dinner)

[Edit: I'm sorry but I have no idea whether fish is vegan or not]

Fish is not vegan. The easiest way to understand vegan is that it means 'don't consume anything derived from an animal'. So no eggs, milk, fish, meat etc.

Stuffed pasta.

Tricky for those that don't make their own pasta, perhaps? That's more like the Cookalong which is in hibernation due to lack of entries. The Cookalong was about partly about specialised techniques.

OK - thanks everyone who has contributed suggestions. We now have enough to choose from so please don't add more. I'll put up a quick poll. You may vote for two and we'll see what shakes down.
