Fish is not vegan. The easiest way to understand vegan is that it means 'don't consume anything derived from an animal'. So no eggs, milk, fish, meat etc.

I was under the impression that fishes were not animals. Obviously I was wrong.

Insects are animals too. So some vegans will not eat honey as it is produced by bees.

I did read this on some obscure website:

"In scientific usage, a multicellular organism that is usually mobile, whose cells are not encased in a rigid cell wall (distinguishing it from plants and fungi) and which derives energy solely from the consumption of other organisms (distinguishing it from plants).

A cat is an animal, not a plant.

Humans are also animals, under the scientific definition, as we are not plants.

In non-scientific usage, any member of the kingdom Animalia other than a human being

In non-scientific usage, any land-living vertebrate (i.e. not birds, fishes, insects etc.)."

Chicken Tikka Masala, Vangi Bhath, Coconut Spearmint chutney, Spinach samosas, and Gulab Jamun.

Jackfruit chili, Hawaiian chili (with pineapple), White chili, and good ol Texas chili.

Wow! You got your possible entries sorted out in advance. :D I want to know more about quite a few of these dishes...
