How much time do you spend cooking?

I once did that with a banana pudding. Rushed through it and it came out lousy!!! I'll never do that again!!! :ninja:

I used to cook big dinners that contained multiple dishes. I don't do that any more. Too much work from start to finish!!!! I had to prep it, get it on the stove or into the oven, eat dinner, find room for it all in the fridge, clean up the kitchen afterwards, wash the dishes & the pots & pans. That was way too much work!!!! Talk about someone being tired!!!! That is why I stopped doing big meals!!! I just cook a meat, starch & a vegetable. Desert on Sundays . As kids, we always had a desert on Sundays.

For holiday dinners, like for Thanksgiving, if I'm home & decide to cook, I do what I like to call a mini Thanksgiving. That is, I cook a much smaller feast. Instead of a whole turkey, like we had before anyone left the nest, I do half a turkey breast. Most of everything else is cooked in small sauce pots. I got small casserole dishes, so if I do them, very small ones go in there. That way, there isn't much food left to put away. Prep & cleaning time is cut in half. If company comes over, they can eat, but there probably isn't much food left & that's a good thing!!
