I discovered fasting by accident. After retiring, I want to lose some weight and found that if I eat very light in the afternoon it does help.
So my typical eating pattern throughout the day is breakfast with tea, toast, and one egg. One bowl of steel oats. Then we eat lunch around 11:00 AM, I can eat anything, no diet. After that if I feel hungry I have a bowl of yogurt, a piece of cheese and fruit around 3:00PM. So maybe 12 hours fasting at most. Eating an early dinner or snack helps me sleep well at night to.
Surprisingly I lost 35 pounds, and kept it off since COVID. It’s hard to lose weight once you get to a certain age. Initially I felt a bit hungry, but now I don’t.
I also eat a lot of vegetables and fruit, I’m a fruit lover. Despite eating a lot of fruit, may 4-5 fruit a day, I have no diabetes problem my glucose and A1C is low. So I have no health issues and I’m very thankful, not sure it’s due to fasting or not.
