Its all my fault!
Its all my fault!
It was such a minor thing and I was about to do it anyway.Hey isn’t Badjak due a wrist slap for not using the report button? No fair!![]()
I'm just thinking....
One of the things I like scarring is aubergine/egg plant.
I suppose it won't work just scarring the outside?..
As you want the inside soft , cooked and smoky?
The wire support does it's job well here too. It holds on to the eggplant and I just run around the surface with the flame and burnt the skin. I spent less time with the blow torch than the gas stove top method, I had the feeling it may not have been completely cooked all the way through so I microwaved it for 2 minutes just to be sure. In hindsight I could have just kept going at it with the blowtorch, maybe lower the flame, and the heat would have done the job for me. around the surface with the flame and burnt the skin. Fair enough. My husband is a DYI person, he fixes everything in my house, we rarely have to get anybody over to fix anything yet. So I rather not fight about little things.
I’m impressed. While I’m no wallflower myself, I did help doing stuff outside the house, particularly the hardscape of my yard, some of the bricks weight a ton, but when it comes to cars and fixing inside the house, my husband is the chief. Same with washing dishes, and one key thing I learned early in life is never to argue with the person who does your dishes, lol.Fair enough.
I’m the DIY person in my house. I fix pretty much everything. Mostly courtesy of my dad believing in equality.
In the last 10 years we’ve had about two workman here, one plumber and one builder to lay a substantial amount of concrete for the outdoor kitchen.
Apart from that I do everything. It’s not mentally difficult but it is often physically demanding.
Fortunately I have three gorillas here I can point and press the go button on so generally no need for outside help.
Since my boys could speak they’d break stuff and come to me with the broken object held out saying “Mummy fix”![]()

They are handy.I think to need to get one of these!
I have a bbq/fire lighter but they're non refillableand I use the stove top gas ring for charring chiles and stuff. OH has proper blow torches but they're nowhere near the kitchen!
And I like pineapple on pizza on occasion![]()

We're at 5500 feet - that's a thought!I've got two, but unfortunately, they work for a couple of days and then give up. 4,265ft above sea level doesn't help.
