Mequite bean flour is an almost forgotten way to bake breads, cakes, cookies, pie crusts and other things. It was largely a baking style in the southern United States.

Have any members ever baked with mesquite bean flour and care to share their experience?

BTW: Mesquite is a spiny shrub that grows in the southern parts of the USA, often associated with desert areas. It's chipped wood is notably used for smoking food as it gives the smoked foods a unique flavor.

Mesquite grows wild in North Texas. It is used more for grilling than smoking. It gives off a rather strong smoke. Mesquite wood coals are good for grilling steaks. If you do a low-and-slow smoke with mesquite, the flavor will probably be overpowering.

I have never heard of mesquite bean flour.
