They could well be split red lentils just not cooked to the point of them disintegrating. It usually takes mine a good 45 minutes coming to get to puree stage whereas they cook in about 20-30 minutes. But following the instructions to the letter, the lentils are cooked for an hour, so that theory fails... It could be the difference in makes and organic and non-organic red lentils?Thats really odd. What are the round yellowy things at the front of the bowl? Not that I'm in any sense disbelieving you!
