I hate paying shipping that costs more than the product so I have my "yearly list" comprising all the things you can't get at Walmart in this two lane town.Order from Amazon.

3 out of 6 ain't bad. Can't stand anchovies or Roquefort and don't like walnuts (I'd eat them if they were the only thing around to eat but I'd get in my car and drive somewhere or just go hungry to avoid anchovies and Roquefort).High glutamate foods (measured in mg/per 100gms):
Anchovies (630), Parmesan (1680), Roquefort (1280), dried shiitake (1060), walnuts (658), sundried tomatoes (650-1100), soy sauce (1264).
All the things we love!
I am the same. I wait until I have $35 worth of stuff to order from Amazon so I can get free shipping. As far as Walmart goes, I have found that if they don't have something in stock, they might be able to ship it for free if combined with other items that comprise $35 worth of stuff. So if I find something I want that costs $8 from the Walmart website, I can combine it with $27 or so worth of stuff they have in stock for a pickup order and the $8 item will ship for free.I hate paying shipping that costs more than the product so I have my "yearly list" comprising all the things you can't get at Walmart in this two lane town.![]()
I'll have to remember that when I come over for dinner and take some benedryl before eating.Up until 1998 I had never heard of MSG! Met a Korean pit boss at a casino and married her. She used MSG like turning on the tap. I've kept up the habit for the last 27 years and get the 454g bag since I have to drive a couple of hundred miles round trip to get it. It lasts a long time...
No, I'll remember and leave it out.I'll have to remember that when I come over for dinner and take some benedryl before eating.
I'll eat them all, any day of the week, but just as well we all don't like the same things. That's what makes the world go round! Can't stand anchovies or Roquefort and don't like walnuts
It's totally true. My mother loved Roquefort, anchovies (and sardines, ew), and walnuts. If I hadn't looked so much like her (as she said so many times), she would have thought I was swapped out with another baby accidentally at the hospital! And of course when I did something wrong or had any divergence in behavior or my eating preferences, she said, "You're just like your father."I'll eat them all, any day of the week, but just as well we all don't like the same things. That's what makes the world go round!
That stuff is MSG? I always wondered what that was.

Whoa, never knew that!
It's funny. Is not on sale here but I did know that. Over the years, I saw US recipes which included it so looked it up. Maggi seasoning is also a culprit.Whoa, never knew that!
I've got Maggi seasoning but this particular product doesn't list MSG. It's a Nestlé company so they've probably *many* similar products. It's funny. Is not on sale here but I did know that. Over the years, I saw US recipes which included it so looked it up. Maggi seasoning is also a culprit.
