Ordered a Compact Washer & Dryer Today!!

After 3 years of lugging dirty clothes downstairs to be washed & dried, I decided to get me a washer & dryer of the compact size. So that I don't have to keep on going downstairs for that. There are elevators, but going up & downstairs to do that, it can be a headache at times.

We take for granted what we have, we have a separate laundry with a washer and a dryer. I remember when my mum used to cook in a copper for washing. With a fire under it.
Now we just push a button. With daughter and mr7 here it's not unusual for 5 loads of washing a day. I know coz that's how many I did a week ago.

We had a dryer, but Mom preferred to hang them out on the line to dry. Nothing like going to school and finding out too late that a bird had crapped on your shirt sleeve.

My grandmother used a mangle (what we'd call a wringer-washer) until the she died, in the 1990's. She had a modern washer and dryer, but used them to store blankets and hide money!

Like a wringer-washer, but considering what it would do to your arm should you get careless, "mangle" is a much better word.

Reuben is so true, many girl I knew in the Gabello had arm break an finger in the rollers. Bad thing but had no choice.
