Plans for today (2023)

You think I’m bad, I spoke with my niece yesterday - they’ve already had two Thanksgiving meals, and will probably have another one before the one on the day itself…and their house is fully decorated for Christmas!

Talk severely to your niece. If she hasn't got the Easter Eggs set up already, then she's losing it.

I honestly can't understand how some people are that invested in celebrating life

To quote her, “It’s not a holiday, it’s a holiMONTH!”

I'm not celebrating Thanksgiving but when I have guests over I always set the table the day before. It's one less thing to worry about on the actual day the guests come and when I will already be busy with cooking.

Round these parts, setting the table a day in advance would leave everything covered in a layer of dust!

My in-laws are currently visiting and today my wife has taken them to see the World Famous Surin Elephant Round up at the stadium in town. I've been a number of times previously so I made my excuses and stayed home.

Nah, not true.
Menu is peperonata with some nice crusty bread, croquetas of ricotta and broccoli, with a chilpotle mayo, spaghetti alla Putanesca and rhubarb crumble.
I'm getting hungry!

I’m getting that you’re big into the satay sauce at the moment. It’s one of my families favourites so I’d be interested to hear what your version entails?
