Plans for today (2025)

Eye clinic again for the 2nd cataract surgery. It took a bit longer this morning but we were back by 11am.
Now I've got to do some prep for an LNAT class this afternoon, send some of the recipes to chef for next week, send out a menu or two for another event coming up and work out some HOT Indian dishes for a client.

My BP was 118/84, which is fine, but I gained 4 pounds on vacation, LOL. I got my flu shot while I was there.
I was just at a doc’s appointment on Monday, and when she weighed me, I mentioned that it would be high because I was wearing heavy jeans, boots, and three layers (t-shirt, shirt, sweater)…and my phone and my keys were in my pockets. I’d also had a good breakfast.

Sure enough, I came in a good seven pounds over my usual butt-naked pre-breakfast weighing at home.

After I settled in, another nurse came in to formally get me checked in for the doc, and she was doing the usual, all very matter-of-fact:

“Name?”
“TastyReuben.”
“Birthdate?”
“9 July 1966.”
“You’re here for…?”
“Follow-up.”
“Blood pressure…122/81…weight…190…what are you doing for exercise, anything?”
“Walking, 2-3 times a day.”
“You better make it 3-4 times a day - you’re getting fat!”

I always find it interesting when the nurse who is telling me how I should lose weight outweighs me by 40+ pounds.

Worst one I got was from my former doc - husband drove me to my appointment, and when he saw him in the waiting room, admonished me and gave me a lecture about how he’s fat, and I’m “feeding him too much”.

Last time I checked, he does have hands and is perfectly capable of feeding himself. I don’t hold him down and stuff food down his throat.
