Plans for today (2025)

Lamb is in the oven, slow roasting at 250F.
I also soaked my black eyed peas for soup tomorrow.
The pizza dough is out of the fridge, one more stretching for the heck of it. I’m staring making the tomato sauce. It’s going to be a bad ass pizza, all the leftovers will be piled up, haha.

Watch you don't squish it, the dough! 😲

Is that a traditional New Year thing?
I have loads of black eyed peas - at least I think they are. They could be beans, too. 🙂 Black and white splodges with s black round area in the middle. Not super familiar with what to do with them.
I think it’s traditional for people in the South for good luck, I just want to make sure I get all the luck I can get this year.

But honestly, I have them for a while and some leftover ham from Thanksgiving, so I say why not, lol.

We have linner (late lunch/early dinner) out plans with two of the Neighborhood Couples.
Then, I didn't know this, we are going over to Mr&Mrs NDN's home to play cards, drink champagne and eat our selves silly.
The thing is that the couple that just moved back here after being away for 5 years are not the best company.
The both argue with one another and even use four letter words at each other, IN SOMEONE ELSE'S HOME!!
I find this very rude and offensive, both DH & I don't want to go, AT ALL!!!
DH said that at the first sign of the Mister blowing a gasket, we're outta there!!!

These are black eye peas. You can make dish called Hoppin' John, it's a NYD thing.

Those for good luck and then usually either collard greens or cabbage for money.
