Plans for today (2025)

Another croc convert here. I always thought they were a ridiculous looking abomination of a shoe, I swore they’d never grace my feet.
But my youngest was always bashing his feet into things and hard too (broken toes and cracked toenails) so I got him some crocs for his indoor shoes. When he grew out of his size fours I tried them and was immediately converted.
Same as Jas I find there’s no competition when it comes to comfort when you're on your feet for a long time. The were one of the first things I made sure I bought for the kitchen in Spain. They’re like rebound mats but on the soles of your feet.
Crocs brought out some super soft bouncy ones recently called recovery sliders and blimey they are ridiculously soft!

To keep it on topic I’ll add I’m planning to where them today 😂

Got back home to find my neighbours habit of placing her bin in the road - trying to defend the bit of road outside her house had annoyed another person (a white car likes to ensure they park specifically there too).

Annoyingly that would have made getting my car in outside my house a bit of a struggle (if tired I misjudge angles when parallel parking). So I abandoned my car opposite.
It's a public road, no assigned spots, but kinda annoying when people ignore an empty stretch of road opposite which has no houses and park in front of your house. No point making an issue out of it tho, specially when at least 2 car owners are clearly bloody minded.
That's my lil silver car, and yes, it's wales and there is no rain 😵‍💫

Over here if we put the bins out in the road too closely to the postbox, the postie will hit them with their vehicle. If they get knocked over, they don't get emptied. Neither the postie nor the bin man will get out of their vehicle. We've learnt to walk the bins 10m or so further down the road!

Well I'd planned to park in front of my house last night, but both I and every other car failed (thanks red car). When it left this morning I made sure to grab my spot before people started returning home lunchtime.

Today I plan to watch some tv and maybe have a kip sometime this afternoon / evening. I failed hard on the sleeping thing last night, only managing about 3 hours 🥱

Not planning much today beyond snacky-snacks and daiquiris.

Crocs - I too am a convert (though I currently don’t have any) after both my podiatrist and physical therapist recommended them as relief for my plantar fasciitis…and they did help tremendously.

Trash bins - we give our trash collector a little something at Christmas, and that means I can look out at the end of the driveway after trash collection day and see where our trash bins were blown over (along with everyone else’s), and the neighbors will still have trash blown all over their yards, and ours will be clean and picked up.

$25/year is cheap to ensure the trash man takes care of you!

I do exactly the same and like you say it’s well worth it.
I also give the postie a Christmas tip and thats worth it too.

I don't pay for a trash service and the drop off station is only a couple of miles down the road so that works.

Jessica, the mail carrier, gets frozen waters in the mailbox in summer, snacks and instant meals during holidays when she's working all crazy hours, and when she has to bring a box up to the house there's always something for her in my drop off bin. I *always* get my mail. The other carrier, Katie, drops off deer meat once a year for her appreciation of my attention to their needs.

So I was going to fertilize the garden today since I planted everything 4/19 and all the plants are doing well but it's raining.
