Plans for today (2025)

The last time I ate Thai food was in London. Ordered the som tam (spicy pawpaw) salad and it damn near blew my head off. There's me with perspiration pouring down my face and the waitress asked: Everything all right sir?

First time I had som tam was a Thai restaurant in Lusaka.
With a couple of friends and we decided to let the chef choose (my friends knew the chef)
Anyway, we are eating those different dishes and one of my friends is suffering. It's too hot, so he keeps topping up on the salad till suddenly he screams: " it's the @$&# salad that is hot"

I'm not certain he is confusing it.

I read it as (and had had similar thoughts)
The way to getting 1 to yourself is to order 2 of them, so that when Mrs TR wants to split your meal with you, you'll still get an entire metre sausage to yourself.
 
Woke up early again today so that we can go to the Farmer's Market - there's a HUGE one not far from where we stay.
DH was [edit - NOT doing well, so we left and came back to the condo, after a stop for some fresh fish and sushi to take home.

Finally worked today to get my own (though she still had to have “a bite.”) - told her I wasn’t hungry, just “go get what you want for yourself,” she came back with a sandwich, and 10 minutes later, I said, “That looks good, it’s making me hungry,” and I went and got my meterwurst.

Can’t outfox a fox (only took me four years). 😏

Her: “I figured we’d just split the meterwurst.”
Me (aside): “Curses, foiled again!”

She’s a real peach. She’s funny, kind, and friendly, with a good sense of humor

I grew up with her dad, he was like an extra older brother. Her dad and my two oldest brothers were/are his best friends to this day, and they’ve known each other since birth(s).
 
Thinking I’ll load up a back up ipad I have with films and TV progs I know my Pa might like and take it to the hospital.
Then I have some raw tiger prawns for sesame prawn toast experiments.
It’s apparently going to be sunny today so it’ll be the first time deep frying in the outdoor kitchen which is something I’ve been looking forward to doing since the idea of the kitchen came about 😊

Probably going to rain on and off all day so nothing outside. Laundry, vacuuming, and grass cut all done yesterday so make my dough for the week.

It's another absolutely gorgeous day here in Hawaii Nei; our plan is to go here
I'm looking to transform DH's den into a Hawaiiana room from baseball :highfive:
We've already purchased two pieces and I hope to get enough before we leave.
