Plans for today (2025)

I've got some laundry going. I swept up some leaves that had shed from around my houseplants. Waiting for my coriander seeds to be delivered so I can grind them for my chorizo.

Speaking of sausage, my husband missed out on the yearly sausage making with his cousins (yesterday) because his foot still hasn't healed well enough for him to stand on it for that long and to do the other tasks required during the process. Still, one of his cousins dropped off 5 lbs of Hungarian and 5 pounds of Italian late afternoon yesterday. I wish they hadn't bothered putting it in casings, as when I use it I will promptly remove it from it's casings. If my DH had been there he would have reminded them that we only require the bulk and it would have saved them some time and resources. Ah well. I am grateful to have it! Hoping that they don't wait a whole year to make the next batch.

I've got a lot of casings but since discovering how to make sausages w/out them don't use them much. Your method is bookmarked thank you! There are sausages where I just *have* to have the snap so I keep them.

Slowly coming around to making 5 lbs. of Vienna Sausage that's *not* like that meat whiz in a can...

Going to the beach to with our picnic basket aka cooler, filled with homemade sandwiches, chips, cookies and cold water.
We're meeting DH's older sister and her husband there, we haven't seen them since arriving on Oahu Hawaii USA.
I'll take some extra cookies for my BIL because sister does not allow him sweets, BAD AUNTIE! as my nieces say :giggle:

Why no sweets?

It's been 7 weeks tonight. It was a severe sprain, grade 3, and it was more than just his ankle as he tore tendons and really wrenched the whole foot (and the knee on his other leg, and his lower back, his neck, his head). I was worried about him having a concussion but he refused to go to the doctor, so...
