Plans for today (2025)

Get water at Turkey Mountain Spring and pick up some carrots. I ordered 2 cayenne pepper plants supposed to be delivered this AM so I'll have to get those in the ground. My bamboo fell over and split my other plant in half. Got about 2 dozen green chili's off of it. I really want some fresh red cayenne chili's. 🌶️

That looks doable. Now I can use the massive mortar and pestle I ordered in February. Thank you.

I'm wearing a large T-shirt. Just finishing breakfast, soon in the shower. It feels like a Saturday for some reason...

I slept until noon because we were up until 4am. I have to water the plants but I really don't feel like doing anything else.

badjak For the amount of chili's I have how much green tomato would I need please? I've got *lots* at the moment that weigh in around 8 oz./240g.
Depends on the heat of the chili's and your heat tolerance.
I would make it without green tomatoes. Blitz or pound. Taste, remembering it's a condiment and assess.
You want it milder, add tomato,
You want it hotter, add chili's, maybe green bird eyes

Good points. I'll go w/out the tomatoes and pound. I've got this 6 kg mortar been sitting on the counter for months... No green birds eyes in hand but I can go check the bushes on the fence line and see where those are at. 👍

The last event I did for the Indian embassy, I put some green chiles in a bowl, next to the chutneys and hot pickle. They picked them up and ate them like they were peanuts.
I had one couple visiting (him Indian, she Thai) and they ate my madam janet chili's like that :pepper:
And I thought I could eat reasonably hot
