Plans for today (2025)

No plans at the moment and no cooking if I can help it for a while. At least till temps drop.

Later this evening we will be sat outside on the decking in our back garden watching the wildlife, birds, bats etc...then the night sky.
I recall some, *a lot*, of bats at a rest stop going into Las Vegas NV. It was around 3 AM and had to go so rushed into the bathroom with one objective. I'm about to leave and then I notice the bjillion bats outside eating the insects attracted to the entry light. Wasn't sure how to run through all that so I wadded up several blobs of wet TP and tossed one out the door. The bats swooped on it and I ran into the empty spot, tossing TP to the left as I hauled it towards the car on the right.

Never will forget that night, 1984 it was, in the spring.

Today's plan is to go out to the other side of the Island to visit with:
Sister-in-law (DH's older sister) and here husband
Hang out with them for a while at their house
Go out to have linner (late lunch/early dinner) with them
Visit my Mother-in-law and Father-in-laws grave site, which we do each time we come to Oahu Hawaii USA
SIL wanted to come with us, saying that they hadn't been in years because they couldn't find the plot ... I just went to the admin office and they printed out a map for me :thankyou:

Real temps of 101F…I’m going to hate to see what your heat index temps will be. We’re supposed to top out at around 97F early next week.

…and I’ve got to mow the <bleeping> grass tomorrow! :heat:

The humidity is supposed to be dangerous.
We've got poor air quality to boot due to Canadian wildfires. But similar temps, just a day behind you. I just cranked the AC down to 71. Since we aren't going anywhere I would just prefer to be comfortable. I did buy those lamb shanks (in cryovac) and thought about throwing them in the freezer, but the "use by" date is July 7 so I am safe to leave them in the frige for another week until the temps drop.

My youngest came by and took a bunch of plants for her plant room while her husband is putting in shelves. I am so glad she took some (I think she took 7). I can clean off my plant table and put some of my floor plants that aren't too tall on it. This will make it so much easier when we go on vacation, much less for someone to have to deal with, which will probably be my youngest daughter or her husband anyway. My DH was not really on board with it, he likes the plants, but he doesn't water or care for anything that grows inside so I was pretty adamant that they were going away!!! So anyway, light cleanup of the plant table and some other minor housework will happen in the next few hours.
