Plans for today (2025)

Plans for today include a lot of watering things outside and picking out a couple of July 4th cookout items - MrsT and I were invited to a family cookout by one of her clients, so she’ll have to bring something. I’m on call that week, so it’s 50-50 whether I’ll go.

Heat dome thing with real feel temps around 105/40.5 so we're staying inside. Made an early run to pick up generator maintenance/repair items, finally have one, and get some milk. Stained my first shelf for some tool items; tired of this stuff all over the floor.

This evening when the garden is in the shade I'm going to water and feed the plants. They'll recover overnight and get a break tomorrow with some overcast/broken skies and possibly some rain.

Not really sure what our plans are for today.
Last night we had talked about going to the beach again with our cooler filled with sandwiches and cold water, but DH went back to bed about an hour ago, and I really don't want to wake him... he's not a very good sleeper and any extra snoozing he can get I'm down for.
It may end up being a day off from the beach ... I do want to go back over to the other side of the Island and purchase a piece of artwork I want for DH's den.

My garden is wilting except for the tomatoes, chili's, cucumber, and eggplants. 😕
That's the problem I have and the very reason that most stuff is grown under a shade cloth. It can cope with heat, just not direct UV when it's 40-45°C out and UV 8-15. The shade cloth works magic and the plants look so much greener and happier.

I've rigged up some things over the squash, we'll see if I wasn't too late.
