Plans for today (2025)

UK 69- USA 7 .
Perhaps not quite good enough!
Well the England womens rugby team is a very formidable side and that score doesn’t at all the reflect the game.
It was fast paced, exciting and well played. The widening gap came from the USA making mistakes and giving away a hell of a lot of penalties, which is inexperience.
They played really well and if they carry on the way they’re going will soon be a serious contender 👍

I made it to Lusaka and got my gas bottle filled.
Then unpacked part of my car as I. need to pick up a friend from the airport the day after tomorrow.
Also took my cooler out and connected to my solar battery to find out it didn't work anymore. Some swear words were spoken till I figured out I connected the cable to the battery, but did not connect the other end to the cooler :shy:
Anyway, it works now

That's a better scenario than it not working at all. Better to be user error than equipment failure every time.

Last day in the Isle of Man.
There’s no racing today as Sunday is a reserve day in case there are crashes that have an impact on getting all the races finished.

This means very large number of tourists here will all be looking for lunch and the majority of IOM eateries don’t care to open on a Sunday!
Even the ones that do won’t take bookings, only walk ins. So the plan is to get in there early, aim to be eating lunch at 12 which I’m guessing would be an early breakfast for JAS_OH1 😂

Unfortunately the fire alarm went off last night so all the guests had a nice hour on the promenade at 4am this morning so I’m not exactly feeling chipper today.
Some guests were complaining they’d only just gone to bed and judging from the wobbly walking they were doing could have done with the rest 🍻 😂

Seems odd to turn down the chance of profit. In the normal restaurant world its Monday that tends to be the day of closure, if any. Is it some sort of religious tradition on the Isle of Man?
They remind me very much of the Spanish in their way of being. There are hardly any recognisable chains and if they want to shut up shop they just do!
It's like a different era, somewhere between the 50 and the 80's!
