Plans for today (2025)

I got a new toaster oven/air fryer today. A bigun.
So I rearranged my counter in the kitchen to accommodate it. Which actually freed some space up where the old TO used to be and the KA mixer now sits. I still need to move the old TO into the basement with the other ones, lol. And the drip coffee maker... and the ice teak maker... and the ice cream machine... and the Keurig... It's getting to be like the island of broken toys (whatever that was) down there.

Get my gas station audit behind me and then take my hoagie dough and make my sandwich buns. 👍

Success!

Pics when you're done please! 🙏
Yeah, I am not sure my dough is ready, I just cut off a small piece and shaped it, I am going to let it do it's rest then boil and bake just the 1 to see how it turns out. If it isn't how I want it, I might have to let the remainder of the dough come back to room temperature and let it proof some more (I kept it in the refrigerator overnight). It does look doubled, but it was a ball originally and it flattened out during it's long proof yesterday, so it's hard to tell. Which is why I want to get some of those straight-sided containers with the markings on them for the future.

Congrats! Against my better judgment, I bought an air fryer and have found I quite like it.

Thanks!
I started with an Emeril infomercial one, they had to replace it, and then it has lasted a few years or so. But the lower element isn't getting quite as hot and it had a weird broiler function. Made goot fries though. And reheated pizza slices better than than when bought fresh.

I'm really looking forward to this new one. Especially because I'm hoping it replaces my oven, which I only use to store my CI pans.

I'll check out that link 👍

I've got the Emeril 9-1 but I have been really lucky in that mine is still working and in great condition. I've had it for about 4 and 1/2 years I think. What brand did you go with for a replacement?

I went with the big Breville. The one that costs too much.

BOV900BSS Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro

But since they have a great rep and I was dead set on having one I could stick a 5qt DO in, on account of the real oven not working right, I am hoping it was a good investment.
And hoping it doesn't go on sale Black Friday.

What is BOV? I don't know of it.

I have to admit I was a bit bummed when I bought my Emeril and saw the photo of a chicken on the rotisserie in it for their ad, only to discover you can't put anything bigger than 4 pounds in it. And the average roaster in the US is probably more like 6 pounds. But other than that, not bad. My regular oven works fine but I discovered not too long ago that 350F isn't really 350, it's really more like 335, so I have to turn it up to 365. Sigh. I do like how it doesn't heat up the whole kitchen like the big oven does in the summer.

BOV? I don't know. That's in the model number. I don't know what it stands for.
My Emeril came with a rotisserie, but I never used it. And it was the smaller one anyway.

Okay so the name of the brand is Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro?

It’s a Breville oven, so my assumption would be that it’s just short for Breville OVen.
