The water was yellow when I dumped out the first batch.I find that soaking first cuts down on cooking time, which in my eyes is less to GA Power.

Thought these were beans but possibly blackeyed peas tho not round enough probably. Given half a bucket of them - grown around here I think

Do they have any different cooking requirements than beans?
No. When I cook them I soak them overnight, pour boiling water on them. They take around 40 minutes in the IP, instant pot, on high pressure cook. That would be a couple or so hours on a stove.

I usually cook mine in a crockpot, the longer it stews the better the flavor.

I cook mine in seasoned bone broth. The only thing I ever cook in water is roasted bones!![]()
