Plans for today (2026)

The turkey is in the oven, this time I borrowed a little bit from Jacques Pepin, cooking it at 400F, a lot from Ina Garten’s perfect roasted chicken, stuff the bird with lemon, garlic, thyme and put the bird on top of quartered onion.

Next step is to do the stuffings, so I can use all the leftover croutons.

Perfect Roast Chicken

Minimal cooking, easy cold smoked turkey platter, potato saiad, red grapefruit kalamata feta salad, cornichons, red onion marmalade, etc freshly baked brioche rolls are about the thing I'm cooking.

Somewhat of a working day, maybe a movie later on. Onwards n upwards into the NY

Birthday cake anywhere?

Stuffings are in the oven, next is to roast some leftover chickpeas, and cabbage, not charred either, just a little bit with olive oil.
Tiramisu will be done in the afternoon, maybe about 3-4 ish.
This is it, no cooking for a few days.
The turkey smells very good and I do like turkey meat.
The bean soup is not quite falling apart yet, maybe in an hour.

Not doing gravy today, just put cabbage and chickpeas for roasting, chickpeas with olive and a little paprika.
The long pole now is the stuffings, they need to bake and hour.

I made my tiramisu, I picked an easy recipe, no eggs, no egg yolk, just cream, sugar, and mascarpone. I’m done for the day. Lots of food in the fridge, not only that I think I used most of everything I bought for the holidays, so the fridge is reasonably empty. I feel good!
