I like simple too but so far flavor wins. It’s a good idea but I’m into simple cooking as I age. I’m going to throw mine in a crockpot.

I've got a solar thing on my truck, like a trickle charger, to keep it maintained. My plans have been rearranged for me.
Dead battery. It's 18v with being a truck battery and the charger/reconditioner we have is 12v or 24v. So I'm on 10 minute watch but i don't think it is going to work. We're sitting at 12.8v... on the recharge 12v setting because the recharge 24v setting gave me an error saying the battery isn't 24v. It's right, it's not!
I'm about a month out. Have to watch the weather. My next on my to do list today is starting my tomato seeds, I finally found a small and shallow container that I took from my sister’s house, it serves as a small green house, so yay, tomato seeds here we go.
I’m leaving them indoors, when I get back from my vacation, then maybe I will up pot them.I'm about a month out. Have to watch the weather.
Seems that it is actually a 12v battery, but I am unconvinced now that it is a battery problem. It is not clicking as modern vehicles do when they have a flat battery (though the battery indicator panel is showing a charge on the battery, not OK or replace. The engine is not turning over, it tries for a split second and stops. I am running a full cycle on the battery reconditioner we have and if that fails I will be finding out if we have home start cover on the breakdown. I think we do, but even that is not going to be much use because the local garage who services her and knows her inside out, is closed for Christmas break until Monday 12th.... But that isnt an issue if it is the starter motor. I needed her today and tomorrow only for this week. It is not uncommon for her to go 6-8 weeks without being used and start first time. The battery is 7 years old, so I expect the indicator status to be black for charge.I've got a solar thing on my truck, like a trickle charger, to keep it maintained.
I know here when there are starter motor issues, and depending on the age of the motor, you can get one last go out of with a few taps from a hammer. This assuming your "spry" enough to get under there. I know you're out there rural so just sayin'...Seems that it is actually a 12v battery, but I am unconvinced now that it is a battery problem. So right now the vehicle battery is on a maintenance cycle on the reconditioner and the battery pack with jump leads is also on charge because it needed charging and was useless to me 2 hours ago.... So back to study rather earlier than expected!
I was thinking of using another vehicle to move the engine.... Also one last go, will have me breaking down away from home - and that has complications in Australia because they do not take passengers in their trucks! so when you break down at the side of the road, you are expected to have someone come and pick you up, which the first time that happened was a bit of a surprise to us, to say the least, having come from the UK!I know here when there are starter motor issues, and depending on the age of the motor, you can get one last go out of with a few taps from a hammer. I'm sure you alredy did, but still ..I was thinking of using another vehicle to move the engine.... But with the garage not open until next week, there is now no point in ringing breakdown until next Monday!
And just to check the battery indicator and remove the terminals I have had to get the step ladders out! the off-road tyres mean that everything is too high for anyone to reach unless they are well over 7 foot tall!
I'm at home, alone.I'm sure you alredy did, but still ..
Have you checked the battery water?
Your car is a manual, isn't it? So you don't really need the battery.
Push or pull start will work...
I'm surprised though that nobody will help you if you are stuck on the side of the road. Very strange.
Everyone will try help here. Generally without any knowledge, but still...
Sounds more like something TastyReuben comes up with! lol
