Plans for today (2026)

Apparently, based on The Velvet Curtain’s post on banjos and flat-footing, I’m now giving one of my banjos its once-a-decade spa treatment - deep-cleaning, polishing, and restringing. I hate restringing banjos!
I restrung mine last year, thank heavens for tuning apps on your phone 😆.
I am trying to find a left hander in my circle of family and friends who fancies giving a bit of Scruggs or clawhammer a go.

Dermatologist today, I think last week it was miscommunication mishaps, so after 7 days, we try it again.
Maybe make my apple crumble today.
I plan to start my Black Krim tomato seedlings today, just this variety. I want to make sure I have a few plants. Last year I only had a few of this tomato variety. A chef on another forum told me this is a good variety.

My experience with banjos in the UK (including NI) is that you’ll have more luck finding someone who’ll retune it, flatpick it, and completely ignore that 5th string up top!

I’ve done that…more than once!
My oh pointed out that we'd need to be doing all of this in reverse! My vehicle is facing up the track, towards the house, not down the track.

Jump starting in reverse, chasing a vehicle down the track backwards... comedy sketch?

“Oh, you have to pop-start your 4-Runner in reverse up a hill, do you?! You’re lucky, you are! I remember once havin’ to pop-start our truck, and it was an 8-Runner, mind, and it was on its roof! And in the lake!

“I can see me old mum now, paddlin’ out and having to spin the wheels as fast as she could, the old dear, while Dad shouted, ‘Faster, Ethel, faster! I’m nearly there!…Cor, what the neighbors must’ve thought!…I wish it had been up a hill backwards, and I’m sure ol’ mum would as well, had she not died in a completely unrelated freak water-based wheel-spinning accident just two weeks later…”

You do that quite well, tell stories.
