Plans for today (2026)

You also have to run it long enough to restore the power it took from the battery to start it. 👍
Yeah, that's not normally an issue. Even the end of my gravel road is 12km away! Plus a tip I was given years ago, which still applies to older vehicles like mine, is to put the lights on, to force that alternator into recharging the battery (whilst you're driving). And given my vehicle is dirty colour, on a dirt road, with a base colour of somewhere between blue and black, i drive around with my lights on all the time (my vehicle automatically powers off the lights if you leave them on accidentally, now the extra lighting is wired in correctly).

So that's pretty much drive anywhere and you've done it.

I'm hiding for the day, until I have to make our evening meal. It is meant to be falafel salad, but I am not sure I want to cook.

If I pick up the courage, it will be cooked outside, otherwise it is bread and butter (so to speak). It is due to hit 39C today. It started off at 22C so it is entirely possible it will reach that.

That's ugh. 🥵☹️

Our living room tv is about 8 years old and whilst I’m quite happy with it after much complaints about burn out, fading, dimness, being unresponsive and impossible to game on (I prefer to think of all of that as ‘quirky’ 😂) I have finally conceded it’s not great and am off to Bristol to pick up a new tv.
I wasn’t planning on going today but the weather turns a bit ugly here tonight and I’d rather not be driving to n fro in it tomorrow, friday traffic is bad enough as it is, without the inevitable moron crashes and jams that happen anytime we move away from middling weather.

What I’ve not mentioned is I’m still not getting rid of the old tv, I’m going to store it in the fantasy ‘moving to the Isle of Man’ pile of stuff. I’m sure they’ll all be super stoked when it finally all comes together and they walk into the new place to see that hunk of ageing plastic again 😜
