Plans for today (2026)

Thanks!

The funniest part to me is, I rarely know where they’re going to end up. I just get the first line or two and then those two “suggest” two more lines, etc.
your next challenge is to explain to the insurance company why you left the 4x4 plugged into your house electrics in a thunderstorm and .... ;)

(Yeah - I disconnected it, but my response to my OH was how do we explain we fried the vehicle electrics after lightning hit the power cables running to the house.... - it has happened already once this season...) :D

Plans for Tuesday January 6th:
Take DH to the Oral Surgeon and home again (poor dear)
Stay at home with DH as he recovers... with that said ...
I want to make Sugar-Free Meyer Lemon Marmalade for my Mother - I haven't done that in many years and the lemons are in season here and reasonably priced - this is a two day, labor intensive process and I'm missing just one ingredient, so I hope that I will be able to pop out and get that...
I have only 4 other family and/or social obligation for the rest of this month and I hope to be able to be in the kitchen most of that time 🤞

Dermatologist today, I think last week it was miscommunication mishaps, so after 7 days, we try it again.
Maybe make my apple crumble today.
I plan to start my Black Krim tomato seedlings today, just this variety. I want to make sure I have a few plants. Last year I only had a few of this tomato variety. A chef on another forum told me this is a good variety.
I’ve grown Black Krim before, I can confirm they’re lovely!

You’re pretty well-stocked for necessities right now, right?
Bursting at the seams. My wife was a ferret in her former life.
Just came back from the supermarket. Vegetable section is empy, apart from a few languid sticks of celery and some parsley - which is what I needed. I also picked up the last kilo of minced beef - excellent, and again, what I wanted.

More gardening this morning (and afternoon) . Finished cleaning up the dry grass, weeds, sticks, etc. and then went to work on the veg plot up the top. Managed to clean/weed about half of it, transplant the galangal root into some looser soil so it gets a chance to grow properly, transplanted 5 tomato plants and that was that.
For the rest of the day, it's going to be making some fried kibbe and, possibly, another banana bread.
Served with ice cream.
And a cold beer.

So with the exception of the thunderstorm, my vehicle has been plugged into the mains until just now! Yep, that snail-paced battery recharge has finally finished its cycle. Apparently, there are 9 stages, and for some reason, it has omitted stage 6 and stage 9, but it now says that it is full.

So the plan is to wait until it is not 34C outside and I can actually touch the bonnet of my 4x4 and then I will try to reassemble everything and see if the engine actually starts. Of course, if it does I will then have to go for a drive because v8's do not appreciate being started and then turned off before they have warmed up and burnt off all the fuel.... so the plan is ...

...to ignore it all until tomorrow :D

You also have to run it long enough to restore the power it took from the battery to start it. 👍
