Plans for today (2026)

I almost bought a hybrid, and I should have. My make and model has a hybrid version. I get 20mpg highway and 28 city in this gas guzzler. It's a beautiful beast, but damn. Hindsight and all that...
 
I wrapped up with work early this Friday morning, mowed the lawn and ran a few errands, then Mrs. GH and I drove out to pick up our giant Kousa Dogwood, afterwards making an impromptu stop at another greenhouse to buy a ton more plants. At the register, I joked, "As if we don't have enough flowers...", and got the stink eye.

On our way home, we stopped at a gun store where I found a particular Ruger hand cannon in .454 Casull that's been on my wish list, so I needed to have it (if only to spite my wrists). As I way laying out the cash, Mrs. GH smirked and quipped, "As if we don't have enough guns..." I could only laugh and reply, "Touché, pussy cat!" I guess you could call us, "Guns 'n Roses"! 🤣

Our son just bought isla a second hand car. Mazda azcela? Sp??
They wanted 6k he left his card and said ring if you will take 5k. He waited a few days and they rang him up. 5k
Isla had 3.5k saved so she owes her dad $1500..im going with him to pick it up shortly. Not bad for a 16yo schoolgirl.
After dinner I'll be knackered.
Yesterday up early to watch 2 grandsons play rugby.. jonty got player of the day.
Harry got 1st try in his game. He plays on the wing the same position I played. A long time ago.

My grandfather played for Southland which is lower south island.
I used to selected for trials for Canterbury which around all of chch . We didn't have a car growing up and trials were 3 bus trips away. Harry played for waihora last year and his team were 2nd best in South island. He's like Richie .macaw in stature but fast. Really fast. I would be happy for him to make country side.
Jonty has come along huge this year but tackling needs work. He plays first five.
Harry is first year at high school.so they get to have him.for their college.. he goes to rolleston college.
