My go-to food when I'm really ill is a Knorr vegetable soup. Yes, one of those things out of a packet.
Last time I was really ill, mind you, was about 20 years ago, with a bout of dengue fever. I didn't eat for three days.

I have childhood memories of being given that when unwell. That and the chicken noodle one.
Flavoured salty water is probably a good choice.
